Abstract

A hitless tunable filters are a key component for ROADM optical communication system, but the one using optical multilayer films has not been realized yet. A novel design for the hitless tunable filter using optical multilayer films has been proposed. In addition, a-Si:H/SiO2 TO-BPFs were fabricated and its basic operation was demonstrated.
