Abstract
We demonstrate a novel fiber-optic interferometric dc and low frequency electric field sensor based on the electrostrictive effect in a Ba:PZT transducer. The sensor exhibits a minimum detectable electric field of 0.01 V/m/√Hz at 1 Hz using 9 cm of fiber.
