Abstract

Inter-core crosstalk statistical distribution due to Rayleigh backscattering is analyzed for bi-directional transmission in multi-core fibers. The counter-propagating crosstalk distribution is shown to be consistent with a chi-squared statistics with eight degrees of freedom.
