Reconfigurable Silicon Photonic Transmitter for Space Based Communications Nodes

Abstract

We present the first reconfigurable silicon-photonic link capable of both coherent and intensity modulation/direct detection (IM-DD). We experimentally demonstrate error free OOK, BPSK, and QPSK modulated signals all on a single transmitter.
