Performance Enhancement of Long-Haul C+L+S Systems by means of CFM-Assisted Optimization

Abstract

We investigate C+L+S long-haul systems using a closed-form-model for launch power and Raman pump optimization. We show a potential 4x throughput increase over standard C-band systems in 1000km links, using moderate S-only Raman amplification.
