Application-Aware Software-Defined EPON Upstream Resource Allocation

Abstract

We study an SDN-enabled EPON architecture that utilizes application information from clients to achieve superior upstream resource allocation. This leads to better quality of experience of videoconferencing clients which are high consumers of upstream bandwidth.
