Shape Sensing Using Multi-core Fiber

Abstract

A method of converting multi-core fiber strain and twist measurements into three dimensional shape measurements using Frenet-Serret equations adapted to the treatment of a multi-core optical fiber as a Kirchhoff elastic rod is presented.
