Q-Factor Monitoring for Fault Management Applications

Abstract

We show that a sensitivity of 0.5 dB is required for using Q-factor to monitor noise for fault localization and analyze monitoring without dispersion compensation in 10 Gb/s networks with symmetric dispersion maps.
