Abstract

Demonstrations of photonic down converters as front-ends for wideband receivers and more specialized multichannel systems (angle-of-arrival, phase detection) [1] are being scrutinized not only in the research environment, but at operational sites as well where issues of cost, long-term stability, and maintainability are considered as important as the usual performance metrics.
