Abstract
The millimeter and submillimeter wave portions of the spectrum are ideally suited to the determination of fusion plasma properties such as density, internal magnetic fields, temperature, and wave spectrum. This has motivated the development of low noise receivers and imaging arrays as well as a variety of sources (lasers, solid-state multipliers, and gyrotrons) which is the major focus of this paper. Recent advances including tomographic phase and polarization imaging are described.
