Simultaneous ER Enhancement and Frequency Stabilization Scheme for Directly Modulated DFB Lasers

Abstract

A simultaneous extinction-ratio enhancement and frequency stabilization scheme is proposed for directly modulated DFB lasers at the optical line terminal to enhance signal quality and to stabilize optical frequency by using a single Fabry-Perot etalon.
