Abstract
In this study we applied the powerful stimulus control inherent in psychophysical methods to electroretinographic study of the modulation sensitivities (deLange curves) of the mid-and outer-retinal layers in the macular region. Focal ERG (FERG) thresholds were determined both by signal averaging and by using lock-in amplifier retrieval of responses in real-time. The aim of this study was to partition out the retinal contribution to the deLange curve (the FERG data) and compare the results with the similarly derived psychophysical results.
