Abstract

Ho:R2O3 (R = Y, Lu, Sc) transparent sesquioxide ceramics were fabricated and their mid-infrared emission properties (the 5I65I7 transition) were studied at room- and cryogenic-temperatures with the goal of developing novel materials for 3-μm lasers.
