Fiber Fuse Effect in Hollow-Core and Solid Core Optical Fibers: Comparison

Abstract

The propagation of an optical discharge along hollow-core optical fibers was investigated experimentally. The obtained physical picture of the phenomenon is compared with fiber fuse effect in ordinary silica fibers.
