Abstract
A high performance 3.5 inch magneto-optical disk drive that stores 650 mega Bytes user capacity is developed and commercialized. Laser Strobe Magnetic Over-lop recording technology is employed. Thinner disk with 0.8mm thick substrate in a cartridge with a dimension 5x92x97 mm is introduce. The highest area density 1.3 Giga bits per inch2 is achieved.
