Abstract
In this work the data reported by Shi et al., [1] and Stalder et ah, [2] for the non-radiative energy transfer process from Nd+3 (donor) to Er+3 (acceptor) in Y,A150|2, are analysed with Monte Carlo (MC) numerical simulations [3]. The Nd+3 and Er+3 concentrations are 1,0 and 15.0 at %, respectively. The measured fluorescence decay of the 4FV2 state of Nd+3 is non-exponential due to this process. To predict the interaction between Nd-Er pairs that drives the energy transfer, three models have been used and three different results have been reported [4,6].
