Abstract
Optical fibre Bragg gratings exhibit strong reflection over a narrow stop band. But of equal importance is the dispersion introduced by a grating both inside and outside this stop band, which is typically 5 orders of magnitude stronger than that of bare fibre [1]. Here we consider nonlinear pulse propagation in gratings in which the dispersion plays a key role.
