Improved Analysis of Rectangular Dielectric Waveguides Based on a Legendre Pseudospectral Penalty Scheme

Abstract

A Legendre pseudospectral method with penalty scheme is established in frequency domain for high-accuracy waveguide mode analysis. For a square dielectric waveguide, the calculated modal index is seen to converge to the order of 1011.
