153 Peta-bit/s C-Band Transmission in a 55-Mode Fiber

Abstract

We transmit 55 SDM x 184 WDM x 24.5 GBaud PM-16-QAM signals for a total data rate of 1.53 peta-bit/s over 25.9 km 55-mode fiber. This was enabled by low-loss, high mode-selectivity mode-multiplexers, a low-loss, low differential mode delay multi-mode fiber and a coherent 110x110 MIMO digital signal processor.
