Abstract
Digital holography was used to characterize particle/plankton distributions, biophysical interactions and ‘patchiness’ phenomena including ‘thin layers’ and harmful algal blooms in diverse aquatic environments. An autonomous underwater holographic system with long-term deployment capabilities was developed.
