Pulse dynamics in a mode-locked fiber laser and its quantum limited comb linewidth

Abstract

We fully characterized the pulse dynamics in a mode-locked Er fiber laser experimentally by measuring its response to gain modulation. The measurement allows us to evaluate quantum-limited comb linewidth and phase noise spectrum.
