Abstract

Actively mode-locked diode pumped solid state lasers are of great interest for communications, detection and ranging, electrooptic - sampling, spectroscopy, biology and other applications. For mode-locked emission the key parameters concern the spectroscopic features of the laser active medium crystal and the efficiency of the electro or acousto-optic modulator.
