Improvements in multi-photon laser scanning microscopy using photonic crystal fibre

Abstract

We report a powerful system based on microstructured fibres that improves upon incumbent multiphoton microscopy instrumentation. Applied to biological specimens, more than a 7-fold increase in fluorescence yield was observed when compared with commercial systems.
