Robust computer-controlled scanning mechanism based on a liquid crystal display

Abstract

A new scanning mechanism based on a programmable liquid crystal display is presented. The display acts as a phase shifter allowing a complete control of the beam position with a mechanism specially suitable for scanning microscopy.
