Abstract
High performance horizontal cavity surface-emitting lasers (HCSELs) are of interest for monolithic two-dimensional incoherent and coherent applications. These devices are designed primarily for high power applications. Previously, we reported high efficiency, high power pulsed operation for such devices. Here we report on higher performance, continuous wave (cw) operation, and reliability of HCSELs with all-etched micromirrors, mounted in the junction-down configuration.
