Coherent nonlinear spectroscopy of non-equilibrium states in atoms, molecules, and solids

Open Access Open Access

Abstract

Coherent four-photon spectroscopy turns out to be a most adequate technique for studies of none-quilibrium states. Examples are presented using it for molecules excited with IR lasers and cooled In supersonic jet laser plasma and excited surfaces of semiconductors. Progress in subpicosecond technology makes it possible to perform experiments in real time.
