Abstract
With the general n-photon interaction of atoms (molecules) and light, the energy is exchanged, if there is resonance W =ħω0 with a term difference ω0 of the particles. This process provides for gain if an emittive step (any nk < 0) is involved. Aside from single-photon emission, stimulated Raman emission (ω1–ω2 = ω0) is the basis for light sources of unique characteristics.
