Abstract
Diffuse photon density waves are used to provide three-dimensional tumor localization in thick tissue using a single set of measurements in a plane. Lateral localization occurs in the detection plane, while a Fourier optics approach is used to backpropagate the wave throughout the tissue volume for depth localization. Computer simulation results are presented which validate the technique.
