Abstract
An onboard interferogram compression, based on Principal Components (PC), is applied to a spaceborne FTS. On top of an impressive compression ratio of 10, the usage of PC permits the computation of the light power spectra without online Fourier transforms, an efficient detection of instrumental defects, their harmonization and automatic correction.
